Welcome

The Vermont Agency of Transportation, in coordination with Vermont’s twelve public transit providers, is developing Short-Range Public Transportation Plans (SRPTPs).

 The SRPTPs:

  • Cover a transit provider’s service area
  • Are five-year operational and organizational plans
  • Define goals & objectives
  • Describe existing services and resources
  • Analyze current and future demand for service
  • Assess service, organization and fiscal needs
  • Identify a marketing strategy
  • Examine operating and capital budgeting
  • Are based on extensive public outreach

Business Feedback Needed!

The purpose of this survey is to determine the transit needs of employers throughout Vermont.

Please take a few minutes to let us know your transit needs so we can address them in this planning process.

Yes!  I want to participate - take me to the survey.

In addition, each transit provider has the option to develop a strategic plan.

VTrans' goal is to engage in collaborative planning with the state’s transit agencies.  During 2008, VTrans' Public Transit Section will work with our partners and the public to define public transit needs throughout the state. Together, we will develop policies and strategies that will provide guidance on ways to enhance public transit networks and services.

What can I expect to see in these plans?
